The Children's Cancer Foundation Inc. held its 28th annual Bowl-a-Thon, which ran from October 2011 to April of 2012. Participating Schools and Highest Student Fundraisers in Baltimore County were honored and presented with awards at an assembly on May 21 at Pine Grove Middle School.
Monies raised from the Bowl-a-thon go toward building facilities and providing research for children with cancer and leukemia, the No. 1 disease killer of children in the United States. More than $78,600 was raised by Baltimore County Public Schools. Pine Grove Middle School placed first in Maryland, raising $19,677. Olivia Lorber who was awarded first place in Maryland, raised $2,415.
