Fire-Rescue Log: Volunteer firefighters respond to Aug. 1 house fire in Arbutus

Among the 73 calls for medical and fire-rescue service received by the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department during the period July 29-Aug. 5 were the following:

Benson Avenue, 4000 block, Violetville Volunteer Fire Department, 12:07 a.m. Aug. 3. Crews from the Violetville and Arbutus volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Violetville. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Willys Avenue, 5500 block, 11:09 a.m. Aug. 2. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a injury in Arbutus and transported a seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Leeds Terrace, 1200 block, 6:10 p.m. Aug. 1. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to the report of a residential fire in Arbutus and extinguished a basement fire.

3601 Washington Boulevard, Walmart, 10:56 p.m. July 30. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Halethorpe. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Washington Boulevard at Southwestern Boulevard, 2:17 a.m. July 29. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Halethorpe. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
