After the accidental shooting death of Michael Brooks, 15, during a sleepover at a friend's house in Cherry Hill Saturday morning, Baltimore Highlands community members are coming together to help Michael's family.

Bailey Funeral Home in Baltimore Highlands has received several donations to help defray the cost of funeral services and the burial for Michael's family, according to owner Mark Bailey..

Many of the donations, though expressly given to help Michael's family, came with the specific request to keep the donor anonymous.

Bailey, who opened the funeral home on Annapolis Road in November, 2010, said that many community members just wanted to do what they felt was right and help in whatever way they could.

"We want to be good and take care of our community, and he's a community kid," Bailey said.

Viewings are scheduled Thursday, 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 4023 Annapolis Road.

The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 2833 Florida Ave. in Baltimore Highlands.
