Former state senator and district judge John Coolahan, known as the "Lion of Halethorpe," died Dec 30. Services were held Jan. 4 at Church of the Ascension in Halethorpe.

Former state senator and district judge John Coolahan, known as "the Lion of Halethorpe," died Dec. 30. Family friend Jack Graves, of Pasadena, played the bagpipes at Coolahan's funeral and lead the recessional, followed by Deacon Thomas Yannuzzi, left, and Father John Williamson at the Church of the Ascension. The service was held Jan. 4.
