Parkton man arrested on drug charges

A Baltimore County narcotics team and Baltimore County police officers arrested a Parkton man on Sept. 5 after finding 13 marijuana plants, several bags of marijuana, Oxycodone pills and drug paraphernalia at his home in the 19600 block of Downes Road.

Cory Messenger, 39, was charged with manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia, according to a police report.

Law enforcement officials entered Messenger's house at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 5 with a search and seizure warrant. They found 11 marijuana plants growing alongside the house as well as two plants and grow lights in the bedroom closet.

They also recovered a glass pipe with drug residue, two bags of marijuana, three bongs, a metal pipe, loose marijuana, a grinder and four Oxycodone pills, according to the report.

Messenger was released on bail on Sept. 6 and faces a preliminary hearing on Oct. 5 at Baltimore County District Court in Towson.
