The Catonsville chamber will host "Cocktails at the Mansion" Feb. 8, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the historic mansion on the Catonsville campus of the Community College of Baltimore County, 800 S. Rolling Road.
Sample Ships Café's soon-to-be-famous "Catonsville Ruby" cocktail while you relax, unwind and network with fellow local businesses in the large house with history that dates back to before the Civil War.
CCBC Catonsville and Ships Café sponsor this event.
Cost for members is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
Cost for non-members is $35.
Price includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and one free drink ticket to sample the "Catonsville Ruby". Additional beverages will be available.

New breakfast series for small businesses
Join the chamber's new monthly series featuring a wholesome menu of small business topics guaranteed to feed your need for helpful information to make your company grow in this new economy.
Breakfasts will be held the last Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus, beginning Feb. 24 and continuing through November.
They will discuss what loan programs are now available and the expanded Baltimore County Small Business Loan Partnership.

Honoring excellence in education
The chamber launches its inaugural "Outstanding Teacher Awards" event May 31 on the Catonsville campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.
The event symbolizes the strong commitment the chamber has to education in our community.
Students, parents, teachers and community members are encouraged to nominate teachers, individuals and organizations they believe have made an outstanding impact on education.
Deadline for nominations is March 26.
