Arbutus fire-rescue log: Volunteer fire department responds to cardiac arrest in Arbutus

Among the 74 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received during the period Oct. 14-21 were the following:

Greystone Road, 1200 block, 11:57 p.m. Oct. 17. Crews responded to the report of person going into cardiac arrest in Arbutus and transported a critically ill person to a local hospital.

Highridge Street, 5400 block, 9:12 p.m. Oct 17. Crews responded to the report of a person having fallen in Arbutus and transported a seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Delaware Avenue, 2900 block, 5:32 p.m. Oct. 17. Crews from the English Consul, Arbutus, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a residential fire in English Consul and found a malfunctioning furnace had filled the basement of the dwelling with smoke, but no fire.

Interstate 695 between exit 12 and exit 13, 12:47 a.m. Oct. 15. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident on the Baltimore Beltway in Catonsville and found property damage but no injuries.

Interstate 295 at Interstate 895, 1:05 a.m. Oct. 14. Crews from the English Consul and Arbutus volunteer stations and Halethorpe and Randallstown career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident on the highway. One seriously injured person rescued from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital.
