Arbutus volunteers among seven fire departments that find only smoke at reported fire site in Catonsville

Among the 85 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service during the period March 3-10 were the following:

Frederick Road, 6300 block, 3:00 p.m. March 15. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Randallstown, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of a building fire in Catonsville and found smoke, but no fire.

Interstate-695 between exits 12 and 13, 7:45 p.m. March 14. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a brush fire on the Baltimore Beltway in the Catonsville area near the Wilkens Avenue and Edmondson Avenue exits and extinguished the fire.

Wilkens Avenue at I-695, 8:53 p.m. March 14. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury near the ramp to the Baltimore Beltway in Arbutus. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Maiden Choice Lane, 1000 block, 12:51 p.m. March 14. Crews responded to the report of a person having fainted in Arbutus and transported one seriously ill person to a local hospital.

1000 Hilltop Circle, 5:25 p.m. March 13. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Westview career station responded to the report of an injury on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. One seriously injured person taken to a local hospital.
