Fire-Rescue Log: Arbutus volunteer unit among eight fire departments at Catonsville apartment fire

Among the 63 calls for medical and fire-rescue service the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received During the period Feb. 17-23 were the following:

Pleasant Valley Drive, 1300 block, 10:17 p.m. Feb. 20. Crews from the Arbutus and Woodlawn volunteer stations responded to the report that a person was having a stroke in the Westview area of Catonsville. One seriously ill person taken to a local hospital.

Bloomsbury Avenue, unit block, 10:42 a.m. Feb. 20. Crews from the Arbutus, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Randallstown, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of an apartment fire in Catonsville. A fire in the boiler room was extinguished.

Annapolis Road, 4500 block, 8:53 a.m. Feb. 20. Crews from the English Consul, Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of an apartment fire in English Consul and extinguished the fire.

Frederick Road at Prospect Avenue, 5:18 p.m. Feb. 19. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville career station responded to the report of motor vehicle accident with injury in the Paradise area of Catonsville. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Interstate 695 between exits 12A and 12, 10:05 a.m. Feb. 18. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a tractor trailer fire on the Baltimore Beltway near the Wilkens Avenue exits and found smoke from overheated brakes, but no fire.
