Among the 79 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service during the period Aug. 12-19 were the following:
Selford Road at Sulphur Spring Road, 2:04 a.m. Aug. 16. Crews responded to the report of an automobile fire in Arbutus and extinguished the fire.
Oakmoor Court, 1100 block, 10:10 p.m. Aug. 15. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to the report of a residential fire in Halethorpe and found a malfunctioning sump pump, but no fire.
Linden Avenue, 1200 block, 7:45 p.m. Aug. 15. Crews responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Arbutus and found property damage, but no injuries.
Washington Boulevard, 3700 block, 4:51 p.m. Aug. 15. Crews responded to the report of a woman about to give birth in Halethorpe and delivered a baby. Both mother and infant were taken to a local hospital.
Frederick Road at Devere Lane, 2:04 p.m. Aug. 12. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle in Catonsville. One critically injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
