One of the most active clubs in the neighborhood, the Woman's Club of Perry Hall, recently hosted an art contest in a coordinated effort with the Perry Hall Middle School art chairperson Barbara Lambert and the art teachers of Perry Hall Middle.
Students from grades 6, 7 and 8 submitted their artistic masterpieces for the contest. The winners were selected as follows: 1st place – Lindsay Brooks, 8th grade; 2nd place – Alexa Eillond, 6th grade; 3rd place – Shannon Gaffney, 7th grade; and honorable mention – Coleen Michael, 8th grade.
Each of the talented winners received a certificate for their achievement. The 1st and 2nd place winning students advanced to the Greater Federation of Woman's Club Baltimore District level held at the Dundalk Library.
Please join with the Woman's Club of Perry Hall in sending community congratulations to these students on their success.

For barking out loud, don't double-dog-dare miss the fundraiser planned for the future Perry Hall Dog Park!
As a strong supporter of new dog parks in Baltimore County, Councilman David Marks recently secured approval for a dog park to be built on the eastern edge of Honeygo Run Regional Park in Perry Hall.
The new park will be named Perry Paw Dog Park. A bull roast fundraiser, sponsored by Chapel Hills Farm and Nursery, is scheduled for Sunday, June 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Chapel Hills Farm at 4350 Chapel Road. Besides pit beef, ham, fresh salad, corn on the cob, beer and soda, there will be blue grass music by Satyr Hill Band.

The Seven Oaks Senior Center, 9210 Seven Courts Drive in Perry Hall, will hold a member appreciation picnic on Wednesday, June 20, from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center. Members are invited to attend this special picnic in appreciation of their patronage.
The picnic is at Gunpowder State Park's Hammerman Section. Food will be served, but bring your own beer, wine and soda. Entertainment provided by Jukebox Jack.

Have you been to White Marsh Mall lately? The American Institute of Architecture Baltimore 2012 CANstruction design competition took place on Sat, May 19.
Teams of Baltimore architects, engineers, contractors, designers and students constructed pieces of artwork made of canned food! Their masterpieces will be on display at the mall till Monday, June 4.
Afterwards, all the food is donated to the Maryland Food Bank and other community feeding programs. In addition, a mall canned food drive to collect canned and dry food for the needy is being held during this time.
Food donations may be dropped off in the collection box at center court, the food court or the mall management office until June 4.
Don't miss the final concert of the spring concert series at Perry Hall High School auditorium. The Baltimore Symphonic Band will perform on Sunday, June 3, at 7 p.m.
The concert is sponsored by Perry Hall Recreation Council with support from the Perry Hall Improvement Association and the Woman's Club of Perry Hall.
