Fire-Rescue Log: Arbutus volunteers assist BWI units in evacuating an airplane Dec. 14

Among the 69 calls for medical and fire-rescue service received by the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department During the period Dec. 9-16 were the following:

Sulphur Spring Road at Benson Avenue, 10:32 a.m. Dec. 15. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injury in Arbutus. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Baltimore Washington International Airport, 7:15 p.m. Dec. 14. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Halethorpe career station responded to an Alert II assist units at the airport with evacuation of a plane.

Wilkens Avenue at Interstate 695, 6:59 p.m. Dec. 14. Crews from the Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injury on the Baltimore Beltway. One person with non-life-threatening injuries taken to a local hospital.

Ingleside Avenue, 600 block, 5:42 p.m. Dec. 14. Crews from the Arbutus, Woodlawn and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe, Westview and Woodlawn career stations responded to the report of a residential fire in Catonsville. No fire was found.

Interstate 195 southbound between exits 3 and 4, 7:12 a.m. Dec. 13. Crews responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment on the highway in Arbutus. One seriously injured person was rescued and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
