Hundreds of people turned out for the Sept. 11 ceremony to dedicate the beam memorial. The section of steel weighs 510 pounds, and is part of the garden walkway, which also includes bricks engraved as part of a station fundraising effort. A bronze plaque at the site notes, "This piece of steel is from the World Trade Center in New York and is a memorial dedicated to the 343 brave firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001. ... We will never forget."
