(center) Arbutus Elementary School Kindergarten student Ajai Martin, 5, cq., holds the American flag with fellow student Shelby Murphy, 5, Thursday, at Arbutus Elementary School. The girls were participating in a school-wide tribute to America outside the school. The idea came from the school's counselor Loren Santos and the school's nurse Barbara Nelson. They decided to do the idea when 10th graders Dyesha Durm, cq., 9, and Emily Butler, 9, turned in a poster expressing their feelings toward the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
