Sally Field (2001, 2003)

The two-time lead actress Oscar winner ("Norma Rae," "Places in the Heart") won the guest actress Emmy in 2001 and contended again in 2003 for her multi-episode portrayal of Maggie Wyczenski, the bipolar mother of Dr. Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney). Field won the first of her three Emmys in 1977 for playing the title character of "Sybil," a woman afflicted with multiple personalities, and her third in 2007 as another mother on "Brothers & Sisters."
