Sally Field (2001, 2003)

The two-time lead actress Oscar winner ("Norma Rae," "Places in the Heart") won the guest actress Emmy in 2001 and contended again in 2003 for her multi-episode portrayal of Maggie Wyczenski, the bipolar mother of Dr. Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney). Field won the first of her three <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST000010" title="Primetime Emmy Awards" href="/topic/entertainment/television/primetime-emmy-awards-EVHST000010.topic">Emmys</a> in 1977 for playing the title character of "Sybil," a woman afflicted with multiple personalities, and her third in 2007 as another mother on "Brothers & Sisters."
