Back in 2006, DiCaprio scored a surprise Oscar nod for the action-adventure "Blood Diamond" rather than the crime drama "The Departed." Usually, the academy prefers its leading men to be less sweaty, going for acting rather than action, though Gene Hackman won for playing a hard-driving cop in "The French Connection."
