Alan Alda (2000)

This multi-hyphenate won <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST000010" title="Primetime Emmy Awards" href="/topic/entertainment/television/primetime-emmy-awards-EVHST000010.topic">Emmys</a> for acting, directing and writing "MASH." Alda was nominated 13 consecutive years for his role as the irreverent Dr. Benjamin "Hawkeye" Pierce. In a six-episode arc on "ER," he donned scrubs again to play Dr. Gabriel Lawrence, a one-time mentor to Dr. Kerry Weaver (Laura Innes) who was facing Alzheimer's. Alda would win the guest actor Emmy in 2006 for the second of his two bids as <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEPLT000166" title="Ken Arnold" href="/topic/politics/ken-arnold-PEPLT000166.topic">Sen. Arnold</a> Vinick, a presidential hopeful on "The West Wing."
