Built in 1911, Penn Station's architectural design stems from Beaux-arts classicism and neo-classical revival influences. Put in layman's terms, the station rocks as architectural eye candy. The beautiful building, enjoyed by many local and just-passing-through commuters, was designed by Kenneth M. Murchison. Penn Station focuses on funneling the trains through its Amtrak and MARC platforms. The MARC train spans its service from Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) airport to Union Station in Washington, D.C. The local light rail service travels through it on its way between Glen Burnie and Hunt Valley. The Amtrak Metroliner, with services to D.C. and New York, makes several stops at Penn Station daily. The Acela Express serves D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, N.Y.C. and other major points north to Boston. Cab and bus stops also provide additional exit transportation. --Karen Keys
