Here's part of the release from Hearst Television:
Cary L. Pahigian, a radio broadcasting veteran who has held management positions throughout New England and the mid-Atlantic, has been named President and General Manager of WBAL-AM and WIYY-FM, the Hearst Television Inc. radio stations serving the Baltimore, Maryland, market.
Pahigian succeeds Edward C. Kiernan, who is retiring after a successful 23-year run overseeing WBAL-AM/WIYY-FM and more than four decades in radio.
“Cary brings a wealth of experience, having worked for some of the nation’s most honored radio stations, including most recently overseeing stations of various formats in Maine,” said Hearst Television President Jordan Wertlieb. “He is a passionate advocate for local broadcasting and understands the importance of community service and how it is the fabric of leading radio stations.”Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
