Oprah Winfrey leaves daytime TV

Oprah Winfrey ended her historic run in May, and the results are still being felt with audience loss at stations that carried her in syndication like WBAL (Channel 11). Winfrey shared some of her not-all-so-happy memories of her days at WJZ-TV with me in a magazine interview in May. While some readers were shocked to hear her say she was sexually harassed and treated differently because she was a woman, it's important for such stories to be told. That history makes Winfrey's incredible success all the more impressive -- in terms of what she overcame. And stories like hers can inspire others in similar situations.
