It's no fantasy: FX has picked up "The League" for a third season.
The basic cable network has ordered 13 episodes of the Chicago area-set comedy that tells the story of a group of friends in a fantasy football league. The semi-improvisational series stars Jon Lajoie, Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer and Katie Aselton.
"We love the show, and the reaction the cast received across the country during their recent comedy tour is a sign the show is really building momentum," said Nick Grad, executive VP of original programming at FX Networks, said in a release.
Created by husband-and-wife team Jeff Schaffer and Jackie Marcus Schaffer, the series averages 1.4 million total viewers and increased its viewership 4 percent in its second season.
Production will begin this summer and Season 3 will premiere in the fall, FX said.
