The highlight of this year's Wizard World Chicago Comic Con for me had to be eating cheesecake with Alaina Huffman and Julia Benson.
The former "Stargate Universe" actresses—Huffman played T.J. and Benson starred as Lt. James—have been working on their own projects since Syfy canceled "SGU."
Benson and her husband, Peter, have teamed with Ryan Copple, the creator of the “Reise” Web series, for several exciting projects. Huffman continues to work on her “Agent Mom” comic with MTV, and also on her family. She’s expecting her fourth child in Decemeber. (Congrats!)
Huffman also did a guest stint on Syfy’s “Alphas,” which airs at 9 p.m. Aug. 15. She wouldn’t give away exactly what her character is up to, but I did mention she carries a weapon. “I have a gun, and I’m OK with that,” she said. You can watch the sneak peek video by clicking the link on the left under RELATED.
Benson returns to Syfy this fall in the Saturday movie, “Earth’s Final Hours.”
The gals and I talked about the end of “SGU,” their projects and how they are looking forward to a life of “Stargate” cons in the video interview above. Oh, and the cheesecake was Eli's, a Chicago staple, it was tasty.
