Children 7 to 12 and their parents can spend an afternoon learning about molecules with naturalist Meghan Lockwood at the Environmental Nature Center. 'I Found It in a Book'
Paul Tracey will play the song flute, orchestral flute, piccolo, African mbira, kalimba and guitar in a concert for families where books will play a part. The concert is at 11 a.m. in the Friends Meeting Room at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. Admission is free, but space is limited.
Gourmet food truck chefs will compete against one another by using seasonal ingredients, which they will shop for at the SoCo Certified Farmers Market. The competition will start at noon at the South Coast Collection, 3315 Hyland Ave., Costa Mesa. A food drive to collect non-perishable foods, canned items and dry goods will also take place to benefit Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.
