9/11 10th Anniversary Events

9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: City of Costa Mesa 9/11 commemoration, U.S. Army Reserve Base, Air National Guard, 2651 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa.

10 a.m.: Service of remembrance and hope, with guest speaker Imam Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County. The event is at Fairview Community Church, 2525 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Lyon Air Museum commemorating 9/11 by offering free admission on Sunday to all first responders, such as police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, 911 operators and dispatchers. The museum is at 19300 Ike Jones Road.

Bless Them

A "Blessing of the Backpacks" will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Corona del Mar Community Church, 611 Heliotrope Ave. School children of various ages are encouraged to bring along their backpacks.
