Yes, there are bison burgers and burgers made from wild boar, elk and kangaroo. And, yes, the 5-year-old tucked-away cafe in Federal Hill boasts specialty burgers topped with crab dip, white truffle oil and even peanut butter. But a burger joint is best judged, and loved, for its basic burger, which at Abbey is hand-formed from Roseda Farm Black Angus beef, cooked to precise steakhouse temperatures and served on a toasted bun. Having a good product makes things easy on Abbey's staff, said the restaurant's general manager, Steve Kaye. "Other places try to please seven out of 10 customers. We try to please 10 out of 10."
