DANIEL COSGROVE JOINS "DAYS OF OUR LIVES": Daniel Cosgrove, a name and face familiar to daytime viewers for his previous soap roles, debuts this month on "Days of our Lives" as a new character, Aidan. Nothing has been revealed about the role, but Cosgrove's prior performances include Chris Hughes on "As the World Turns," Bill Lewis on "Guiding Light" and Scott Chandler on "All My Children."

Following weeks of being talked about on "Young and Restless," the character of Ian Ward, cult leader and Dylan's long-lost father, makes his first appearance on Friday, Jan. 24. Ray Wise plays Ward, the man Dylan's mom, Nikki, has put out of her mind for more than 30 years, since she met him at the New World Commune, where she became pregnant. Wise, a veteran television actor, appeared in recurring roles on "Dallas," "Knots Landing" and "The Colbys." The role of Ian is recurring.

Celebrity guests have arrived on a pair of ABC Family series. Actress/comedienne Sandra Bernhard is playing art professor Teresa Lubarsky on "Switched at Birth," and makes a big impression on Bay, who is taking her class at a local college. On "The Fosters," debuting on Monday, Jan. 20, actress Rosie O'Donnell will portray the recurring role of Rita Hendricks, whom Callie encounters after running away from her new family and ending up back in the foster system.
