Nigel Sinclair and Guy Eastâs international sales company Exclusive Media has come on board to shop and screen âMetallica Through the Neverâ at Cannes.
The film uses Metallica concert footage to tell the story of a crew member whose life gets turned around after heâs sent on a mission during one of Metallicaâs raging live shows.
âChronicleâ thesp Dane DeHaan stars alongside band members Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.
Charlotte Huggins produced.
âAfter wading through multiple international distribution options for our film, we are excited to be partnering up with the folks at Exclusive Media, who we feel understand Metallica and understand our film better than anyone else,â Ulrich said in a statement. âThrow in the cherry-on-top, launching our international sales with a couple of screenings at the film market during a little up-and-coming film festival in Cannes, and it feels like weâre off to a pretty rockinâ start.â
Picturehouse will unspool the pic Sept. 27 on Imax with plans to expand on Oct. 4.
Exclusiveâs president of international sales and distribution Alex Walton negotiated with Picturehouseâs Bob Berney and QPrimeâs Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch, who rep Metallica.
