Minutes before lawyers for SeaWorld Entertainment appear in court this morning to fight the federal government over the safety of killer-whale trainers, the company unveiled new details of a ride opening next year in its Orlando water park.
SeaWorld said the drop slide will be called "Ihu's Breakway Falls," named after a colorful gecko who is a mascot for Aquatica.
The company also said it will include multiple slides, calling it the tallest, steepest and only multi-slide ride of its type in Orlando. Previously, the company revealed the ride would top 100 feet tall.
It's the first new ride at Aquatica since the Omaka Rocka opened in 2010. The water park opened in 2008.
It's exact date for opening in 2014 has yet to be announced.
