Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater went to Estero high school and UCF before he was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2006. Prater found himself in the spotlight in 2011 after an arrest early in the season. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of a crash after witnesses said they saw him hit a car. Later in the season his name was in the headlines again, but this time for his on-field performance. In a game against the Chicago Bears, Prater kicked a 59-yard field goal to tie the game with three seconds remaining. He then kicked a 51-yard field goal in overtime to bring home the win 13-10. Prater is the most accurate kicker in National Football League history for field goals of 50 yards or more. In this photo, he celebrates after a 56-yard field goal during the second quarter of an NFL football game against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008.
