Tavern on the Hill in Mount Vernon set to close

Tavern on the Hill, a Mount Vernon bar and restaurant, announced on Facebook it would close on Sunday for good.

Open since July 2013, Tavern on the Hill will close its doors at 4 p.m. Sunday, according to the Facebook post.

In appreciation of the community’s support, Tavern on the Hill will run specials all weekend: 20 percent off your food bill on Friday; half-priced beer, wine and liquor on Saturday (4 p.m.-10 p.m. only); and food and drink specials on Sunday (details still to be announced).

“Be sure to stop in for your last ‘Egg’plosion burger, your last order of French toast, or your last order of Tavern fries,” the Facebook post reads. “We will miss all of our wonderful customers and we thank you for your support over the past 5 years.”
