Elton John’s final tour will stop in Baltimore in fall 2019, according to a news release.
Though no date or venue has been named, the release announcing John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour dates includes Baltimore as an additional market for the fall 2019 run.
A Facebook event for a Baltimore date on March 9, 2019 at Royal Farms Arena was created this week, with more than 5,700 people listed as “interested” and 150 people already listed as “going.”
A spokeswoman for Royal Farms Arena said in an email, “At this time, Elton is not playing our venue.” She did not immediately respond to a follow-up question asking if a date would be announced later.
The tour is scheduled to play Washington’s Capital One Arena on Sept. 21 and Sept. 22. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Feb. 2 via eltonjohn.com.
On Wednesday, John, 70, announced the tour would be his last. A news release said it kicks off in September and will visit five continents before concluding in 2021.
John’s website lists a show at New York’s Barclays Center on March 8; the next show is March 12 in Raleigh, N.C. Time will tell if the “Rocket Man” will slot the Baltimore date in between those stops.
Update: 12:25 p.m.: This article has been updated to indicate that a Baltimore stop will be scheduled for 2019.
