Baltimore musician Dan Deacon will headline this year’s Halloween party at Maryland Science Center on Oct. 27.
Organized by the Science Center and the local music education nonprofit organization Believe in Music, the party will feature a wide variety of Baltimore music acts that will also include Caleb Stine, J Pope and the HearNow, Naturel Velvet, Joy Postell, Blacksage and many more. (See below for the full lineup.)
Tickets ($35 general admission; $75 V.I.P.) went on sale at noon at missiontix.com.
Entering its seventh year, the festival has sold out for the past six straight years, said Kenny Liner, Believe in Music’s founder and executive director. Liner said Deacon, who has supported the organization in the past, is an ideal headliner for the party.
“We went big this year by getting Dan,” Liner said. “His music is so fun, and seeing him perform live is more of an event than it is a show. He knows how to make every single person that goes to see him have the best time ever.”
This year’s V.I.P. access includes entry an hour early at 7 p.m., two free specialty Union Craft Brewing Co. beers, food by Mother’s Federal Hill Grille and a Stevie Wonder tribute concert by Squaring the Circle, Liner said.
All of the proceeds from the event will be split between the Science Center and Believe in Music, Liner said. Liner said he hopes the money raised this year will allow Believe in Music to expand its programs into more educational centers around the area.
“It’s our biggest fundraiser we do,” he said. “It allows us to keep operating and keep the doors open.”
The Sun’s Best of Baltimore 2018 named last year’s party the “best event you can drink at.”
