In 2018, sit-down dining will return to the Gallery.
Bunzzz Sports Bar & Grill plans to open in the Inner Harbor shopping mall, in the first-floor space that previously housed Brooks Brothers, by next summer, said co-owner Angela Washington-Tallitsch.
The full-service eatery and bar plans to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, including burgers and sandwiches with a customer’s choice of buns.
Menu details are still being finalized, but bun options will likely include whole wheat, sesame, rye, Maui-onion rolls, gluten-free rolls and more.
Preliminary construction on the space has begun, Washington-Tallitsch said. Bunzzz will be able to seat at least 175 guests, she said.
“We’ve been planning this for over three years,” Washington-Tallitsch said. “We’re very grateful and appreciative to be given this opportunity as first-time restaurant owners.”
Washington-Tallitsch owns the restaurant with her husband, Bernar Tallitsch. The Ellicott City couple has worked in the hospitality industry previously, she said. Angela works in the health and wellness industry, as well as interior design, while Bernar works in information technology.
Bunzzz will serve coffee, breakfast sandwiches and omelets, among other breakfast items during mornings. The lunch and dinner menu will feature burgers, steaks, fish, a crabcake and other entrees, she said.
While there are nearby burger options — Five Guys, Shake Shack and other chain restaurants are within walking distance of the Gallery — Washington-Tallitsch said Bunzzz would stand out for its service.
“There’s not too many places nearby, or any place that I’ve actually visited, that’s going to offer the amount of comfort, atmosphere and customer service that we plan to have at our restaurant,” she said.
The Gallery had a fourth-floor food court that was converted to office space in 2016, and the only stores selling food items are Starbucks and Harbor News, which sells snacks.
