When Wye Oak announced its spring/summer tour in support of new album "Shriek," the duo's hometown of Baltimore was conspicuously missing. Now, we have a date for an outdoor show.
Wye Oak will headline an all-ages concert in the Charles Street parking lot at Metro Gallery on July 26. Matmos (who were recently shouted out by Detroit rapper Danny Brown) and Wume will also perform. Tickets go on sale today at noon, via missiontix.com and ticketfly.com. Tickets ($17) can also be purchased at Charmington's Cafe (2601 N. Howard St.) and Metro Gallery (1700 N. Charles St.).
Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show is scheduled to take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
Before their current headlining run, Wye Oak played U.S. dates with Future Islands and then headed over to Europe for a handful of dates. On April 29, Wye Oak released its fourth album, "Shriek," on Merge Records. (Read my review of "Shriek" here.)
You can watch Wye Oak's video for "The Tower" above.
