Looking back, looking forward: Maryland changemakers in black history

Towson to open Maryland's second World of Beer in September

World of Beer coming to Towson in September.

In September, World of Beer — the growing, craft-beer chain-bar that entered the local market in October 2013 at McHenry Row — will open its second Maryland location in Towson, according to a press release.

The 4,600-square-foot bar and restaurant will be located at 125 E. Joppa Road, and will feature more than 500 bottles of beers and 50 rotating draft taps, the release stated. A variety of offerings from Maryland breweries — including Heavy Seas Beer, Union Craft Brewing, Jailbreak Brewing Company and Flying Dog Brewery — will be sold.

The bar — which will employ more than 50, according to the company — will also have a 400-square-foot patio and live music Thursdays through Saturdays. Towson’s World of Beer will be open 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday-Sunday.

Based in Tampa, Fla., World of Beer opened its first location in 2007. Since then, the company has opened more than 70 locations in 20 states.
