The Virgin Mobile FreeFest will return to Merriweather Post Pavilion Sept. 21, organizers announced today.
While this year's lineup is still under wraps, it will be the festival's fifth year as a free event at the Columbia amphitheater.
Last year's headliners included Skrillex, Jack White, Nas and ZZ Top. Previous FreeFest headliners included the Black Keys, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, Blink-182 and Weezer.
The festival began in 2006 as a ticketed multi-day event at Pimlico Race Course. After three years, organizers moved it to Merriweather and gave away thousands of tickets. The festival has also helped raise awareness and money for youth homelessness.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
