Baltimore bands Lower Dens and Beach House are both on the lineup for this year's Pitchfork Music Festival, organizers announced today.

The three-day festival, run by the popular website, is a high watermark for the indie music world. It takes place July 13-15 in Chicago's Union Park.

Feist, Grimes and Vampire Weekend are this year's headliners.

Lower Dens, fronted by singer/songwriter Jana Hunter, will perform at 3:30 p.m. Friday on the Red stage, and Beach House will perform at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, also on the Red stage.

So far, it's been a banner year for both Baltimore bands. Lower Dens released "Nootropics," an album which Pitchfork ranked 8.2/10.

And Beach House, the duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, released "Bloom,"which scored 9.1/10 from Pitchfork. Both bands are on tour this month.

Baltimore bands have made quite the impression at the festival the past few years -- especially Dan Deacon, who played there in 2007 (video here).

While three-day passes to the festival are sold out, single day tickets are still available.
