Maryland Live Casino will officially open its Rams Head Center Stage concert venue on Aug. 30, officials announced today. The Charlie Daniels Band will be the first act to perform at an invitation-only event. Invitations will be sent to select Live Rewards Card members, according to Carmen Gonzales, Maryland Live's Director of Communications.
The first shows open to the public at the 500-seat venue will feature local acts, including the Real Geniuses (Aug. 31), Crazy in Stereo (Sept. 1), Big Bang Baby (Sept. 2) and Generation Next (Sept. 3). Doors will open at 7 p.m. Shows will start at 8 p.m. Cover charges may apply.
Every Thursday in September will feature a headlining show. Sister Hazel plays the first concert on Sept. 6 ($25). Chuck Negron (Sept. 13, $30), Foghat (Sept. 20, $30) and Patty Smyth and Scandal (Sept. 27, $25) will follow.

In addition to concerts, there will be specialty theme nights: Mondays will have Monday Night Football, Tuesday is Ladies Night, Wednesday is Country Night, Thursday is '80s night and Sunday is Classic Rock night.
