Update: Madonna has added a second show at the Verizon Center after the first one sold out. She will now perform on September 24, a Monday, in addition to September 23. Tickets go on sale Feb. 21.
Madonna's Super Bowl performance reaffirmed that, at age 53, she's still capable of commanding a crowd like few can. So naturally, two days after the spectacle, Live Nation and Madonna announced her world tour, including a stop at D.C.'s Verizon Center on Sunday, Sept. 23. Tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m.
The 2012 tour kicks off in Tel Aviv on May 29. Madonna will play countries such as Spain, France, Ireland, Russia and more before kicking off the North American leg in Philadelphia on Aug. 28.
Her new album, "MDNA," is scheduled to drop March 26. The first single, "Give Me All Your Luvin," features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. For every ticket sold to a U.S. citizen, the buyer will receive his or her choice of a digital or physical copy of the album.
Starting Wednesday, CITI Card members can purchase presale tickets. The general public gains access next Monday at LiveNation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Verizon Center box office or by phone 1-800-745-3000.
