J.A. Murphy's is back open, owner Keith Murphy said today.
The bar closed temporarily in early July for unexplained reasons.
But it wasn't because of a health department problem or overdue taxes, as commenters suggested. It just turned out to be their A/C was busted, Murphy said.
"It was supposed to be a quick fix-up job," Murphy said, but it instead took about two weeks to correct the electrical problem that had affected their A/C. In that time, Murphy said owners also repaired some of the flooring and did some basic re-painting.
Murphy said he doesn't intend to close for that long again unless they shut down their business.
Murphy's happy hour is also back today. From 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. all shots are a dollar.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
