Merriweather Post Pavilion has announced its first summer concert of 2012. It'll be the indie band Foster the People.
The band, out with debut album "Torches," will play June 10. The album has already been certified Gold by the RIAA, which is probably why they're getting to play a stage as big as this one with only one album to their name. Tickets, at $45, are already on sale.
O.A.R., which played Merriweather in August, is playing it low key with its first pair of shows next year. They'll play the 9:30 Club February 28 and 29.
The show is an extension of their amphitheater tour last year and will hit nine intimate venues in support of this year's "King" album. Tickets, at $40.50, are already on sale.
The St. Louis rock band Cavo announced its first tour in two years Monday and it includes a stop at Rams head Live.
The band, promoting new album "Thick as Thieves," their third since forming in 2001, will play Rams head February 9. Tickets, at $12, are already on sale.
Comic Jason Weems will perform at Load of Fun Gallery December 30 as part of the last Final Friday in Station North of the year. Weems is known as a contestant on Last Comic Standing.
The event, as always, is free. The other businesses participating in Final Friday are here.
Of Montreal, the psychedelic Athens, Georgia band will perform at the 9:30 Club April 3.
The band is getting ready to release the "Paralytic Stalks' next year. Tickets, starting at $18, are already on sale.
