A mug from 2010's Baltimore Beer Festival

With less than 20 days to go, Baltimore Beer Week unveiled its new website and sprawling, byzantine schedule last week.

Like last year, there are nearly 300 events - including, beer dinners, homebrewing competitions, lots of beer sampling events and workshops - scheduled over 11 days starting October 6.

This year, there are even a couple of festivals, like the Chesapeake Real Ale Festival (a holdover from last year) and the new Downtown Beer Festival, which will be held at the new Leinenkugel's at Power Plant Live.

Now in its third year, beer week has grown from a small trade event into a smorgasbord of happenings for insiders and amateurs. Over 5,000 people attended last year's 11 days, according to organizers.

Ths year's opening tap event has been scheduled for October 6 - also at Power Plant Live, at Rams Head. Tickets are $30.

The rest of the schedule is just as jam-packed with stuff as last year. Later this week, we'll have a top ten list of the must-attend events.

For now, play around with the schedule yourself. There's plenty to choose from.

Baltimore Beer Week is October 6 - 16. Its website is here.
