Merriweather Post Pavilion has two of the biggest shows of the week - Steely Dan and Death Cab for Cutie. Meanwhile, the Verizon Center in D.C. has Taylor Swift for two nights starting today. We will have reviews of both Swift and Steely Dan later this week. Elsewhere: the great Jonny Blaze will be at Peer Pressure, which deserves a congratulations for reaching it's tenth edition. Also: Boys Noize, James Nasty, Gilded Gilly, and Posh Cavern, and Save Your Soul at Lith Hall.
On Tuesday, Steely Dan performs at Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Pkwy. Tickets start at $35. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Expect a review Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Taylor Swift ends her two-night residency at the Verizon Center, 601 F St. N.W. , Washington , DC. Tickets start at $28. 7p.m. Expect a review Thursday. Also: The Get Down's Peer Pressure party returns with Jonny Blaze. As a sidenote, congrats to PP for reaching its tenth party! Doors open at ten p.m.
On Thursday,New York DJ Louisahhh! joins Mark Brown and Cullen Stalin at the weekly Posh Cavern party at Red Maple, 930 N Charles St. Doors at ten p.m. Free all night, with an open bar between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
On Friday, Save Your Soul returns to Lith Hall, this time with Gary Mitchell, who won WFMU's Rock n' Soul Radio contest. 851 Hollins St, Baltimore. 10 p.m. $5. Also: Baltimore's James Nasty and Uncle Jesse and the great German DJ Boys Noize, who's been touring with Spark Rock, will spin at DC club Ibiza, 1222 1st Street Northeast. The event is by Steez Promo, the guys behind Starscape. $20. 9 p.m.
On Saturday,Burlesque troupe Gilded Lily performs at the Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St. $15. 10 p.m.
On Sunday, Death Cab for Cutie perform at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Tickets start at $30. 6 p.m.
