After finishing his Legends of the Summer set with Justin Timberlake, Jay Z left M&T Bank Stadium in a black Cadillac Escalade and headed to Mirage Nightclub for the concert's official after-party, according to the building owner Anthony Ilkhon.
The "Picasso Baby" rapper entered with a "pretty huge" entourage and headed straight to the bar, Ilkhon said, where he proceeded to order 10 bottles of Armand de Brignac champagne (also known as Ace of Spades) and 10 bottles of D'Usse cognac (who sponsored the after-party). Ilkhon said Jay Z was pouring drinks in glasses and handing them out to strangers.
"He was like a normal dude," Ilkhon said. "Down to earth. He wasn't obnoxious or sitting in the V.I.P. by himself. He was mingling with the crowd."
Jay's entourage was star-studded, and included Trey Songz, Wale, "The Wire's" Felicia "Snoop" Pearson and music executive Lyor Cohen.
Ilkhon would not comment on the amount of Jay's tab, but did say Mirage picked up the bill. He said the club was packed with a diverse crowd and there was a line outside filled with fans hoping to see Jay Z.
(Note: Mirage closed in June but opens for special events, Ilkhon said. It is still closed on an everyday-basis, and there is no timetable for the club's reopening, but it is currently being remodeled, he said.)
