Hometown: West Baltimore
Founded in: 2002
Influenced by: Jay-Z, Nas and Notorious B.I.G.
Notable: Muldrow was featured on a WERQ 92Q radio show as a contestant in 2002. After winning three consecutive battles, he was retired from the show. His sister, Nakeya "Nik Stylz" Muldrow, was the reigning female champion at the time.
Muldrow's first album, The Leak, recorded by his label Major League Unlimited, will be released Dec. 14 and features notables the Clipse of Star Trek Entertainment and Freeway of Rocafella Records.
Gregory "Bless" Veney, who along with Muldrow is a featured artist at the Royal Dec. 2, appears on two singles in The Leak. "He is abstract, in-depth, extremely original and has his own unique slang," Muldrow says of Veney, who co-owns Imperial Records. "The more you hear him, the more you understand him," he added.
Mullymania, Muldrow's sophomore album, is expected to be released this summer.
Quotable: "The Leak suggests that you're receiving something before you're supposed to get it, before the album is in stores," said Muldrow, whose childhood nickname "Mullyman" stems from his last name. "I don't carry a signature Baltimore sound; I carry a signature Mully sound," he said.
