Talk about it: Local concerts
Do you agree/disagree with our critics? What are the best/worst concerts you've been to recently?
The ( Heart of The City tour ) was of the best concerts I ever been to and to me is probably one of the best ever. The 2 of them made the perfect pair. Mary killed the show. I haven't seen her since her and Biggie went on tour back when the movie " The Show " had come out.

The concert was amazing...regar-dless of what your stupid article says. Both artists have exceptional talent and really put on a show. Stop being so critical appreciate the artists for what they are.

Thought Carrie Underwood had a fantastic stage presence, but I agree the music sometimes drowned out her gorgeous voice, which was a shame. Keith Urban's guitar playing electrified the whole place. Unlike your critic, I found his voice every bit as rich, nuanced and thrilling as his music.

Dynamic singing, odd behavior at Erykah Badu's show
There's no other artist in mainstream R&B right now who synthesizes her influences as dynamically as Erykah Badu. Her albums -- especially her latest, New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) -- often swirl with vivid strains of hip-hop, '70s funk, jazz-fusion, vintage blues and whatever else the Dallas singer-songwriter feels like throwing in the mix. Yet the results coalesce into a singular sound that is unmistakably Badu.

Carrie Underwood seems mechanical; Keith Urban is engaging at 1st Mariner
Perhaps the country tag is a misnomer. On their joint national tour, which filled 1st Mariner Arena on Wednesday night, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood sounded more like pop-rock stars. The "country" elements of their music were faint at best.

Steady as he goes, George Strait pleases his faithful fans
There's a reason he's called King George.

Jay-Z, Blige perform with heart in the city
Both are edging close to 40. So it was fitting that Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z, two legendary figures in the youth-obsessed world of hip-hop, brought some grown-up class to Heart of the City, their joint national tour.

Jill Scott delivers music and passion
Over the past eight years, Jill Scott has won Grammys and sold millions of albums singing mostly about two things: sex and food, but not necessarily in that order.

Spice Girls stir in fun with just bit of spice
The harmonies were at times a little weak and the dance moves a bit stiff. But none of that really mattered during the nearly two-hour glitz fest better known as the Spice Girls reunion tour.

Linkin Park strives for musical balance
Trying to grow up in front of millions of fans who want you to stay a certain way must be frustrating. But the guys of Linkin Park are trying to play it both ways: Give the fans what they want upfront and then reveal the "deeper" side that's still evolving. On Minutes to Midnight, the rap-metal band's latest album and first release in four years, the group's searing, angst-filled approach has mellowed. Sort of. On it, the band offers more soaring melodies reminiscent of U2 or even Coldplay.
The Critic
Miley Cyrus' stage presence and energy sell the songs
Hannah Montana mania hit 1st Mariner Arena with a big glittery bang -- literally. Fireworks announced the arrival of one of the hottest acts on the concert circuit.
The Teenager
Miley doesn't disappoint with electrifying party
The Jonas Brothers started the night with a jolt, but when Hannah Montana stepped on stage it was as if everyone in the whole place had downed 10 energy drinks and the sugar had just started to kick in.
The Parent
Hannah Montana is the newest craze -- in the classic style
For a father, the sweetest moment of Miley Cyrus' concert in Baltimore last night came toward the end, as she sat on a stool, eyes glistening, playing guitar and singing the ballad "I Miss You" in memory of her late grandfather. The audience, mostly young girls and moms, swayed with their glow sticks, echoing the Tennessee wheat field shown on the giant video screen on stage.
