Film critic Roger Ebert offends Jackass fans in 140 characters or less.

Early Monday, Ebert sent out a tweet to his more than 400,000 followers regarding Jackass star Ryan Dunn's fatal car accident, in West Chester, Pa.

He tweeted, "Friends don't let Jackasses drink and drive."

Instantly his tweet received mixed responses even from blogger Perez Hilton. Perez took to his blog to write, "Everyone makes mistake, and this is somebody's son. Too soon, Roger."

Ebert later sent out a tweet in response to Hilton and the fact that the majority of his followers agreed with Ebert.

"Perez Hilton's readers agree with me and not with Perez about my tweet on Ryan Dunn. He drank, he drove, 2 people died," Ebert wrote.

Bam Margera, Dunn's BFF and fellow Jackass, lashed out at Ebert over Twitter: "I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents," Margera tweeted. "About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, f*ck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f**king mouth!"

There has been some speculation that drunk driving played a role in the fatal crash that ended the lives of Dunn, 34 and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell, 30. Hours before crashing his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 Porsche into a tree Dunn tweeted a pic of himself drinking.

According to TMZ one of the friends says Dunn was at the bar on Sunday night. "The friend told them that Dunn had 3 Miller Lites and 3 "girly shots" between 10:30 PM and 2:10 AM -- nearly a 4 hour span -- but he was "not too drunk to drive."

A police report also reads, "Preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident."
