Warner Bros. released the first image of Henry Cavill as Superman and he looks -- well, he looks just like almost every other Superman.
But that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you mess with the red and blue costume too much, you might end up with Tim Burton's version (starring Nicolas Cage) that never made it to the big screen.
Judging by the new image of Cavill, the costume seems to be slightly less bright than it was in previous installments but for the most part the same.
“They just put it on, I turned around and look in the mirror and you can’t really play it cool – you sort of guffaw and laugh," Cavill told totalfilm.com
. "I thought ‘OK, holy hell, this is real, it’s not a joke anymore. This is it…you’re doing it, you’re right in the middle of it.’”
"Man of Steel," which hits theaters June 14, 2013, stars Cavill, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe and Laurence Fishburne. The film will shoot in Chicago and Plano, Ill., in addition to Vancouver.
