Stars you know, in films you may never see anywhere else
True, the Maryland Film Festival dwells primarily in the obscure, featuring artists off most people's radar screens (sometimes proudly so) in films that refuse to cater to standard Hollywood formulas. But there will be plenty of recognizable talent on-screen throughout the festival: John Slattery ("Mad Men") in "Bluebird" (4:30 p.m. May 9 and 11:30 a.m. May 10), Anna Kendrick and Olivia Wilde in Joe Swanberg's "Drinking Buddies" (10 p.m. May 9 and 4 p.m. May 10), Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch in David Gordon Green's "Prince Avalanche" (8 p.m. May 11) and Rosemarie DeWitt in Lynn Shelton's "Touchy Feely" (9:30 p.m. May 10).
